Summer Racing

Junior Competitive Program
This program is designed to prepare junior athletes with at least one season of competitive rowing experience for the upcoming seasons through technical skill development and racing experience.  In addition to in-depth, personalized rowing instruction, the coaches will emphasize proper stretching, athletic nutrition, focusing techniques, and other, often overlooked training aids.

Under 23 (U23) Competitive Program
This program is designed to allow college-aged athletes to continue to build on their fitness in preparation for the upcoming fall season, as well as compete at some of the continent’s largest and most competitive regattas.  Coaches will focus on fitness and skill-building through plenty of small boat work, as well as rowing 8+s.

Both the Junior and U23 programs are designed to give athletes with at least one season of rowing the opportunity to further themselves as technical rowers and as racers.  Through highly focused practices and frequent racing, our athletes will be able to hone their skills in preparation for the upcoming fall season, as well as feed their need for speed.

Both summer racing programs will begin on Wednesday, May 30th, which will give athletes an adequate recovery period following the Spring racing season and end mid-August with Canadian Henley Regatta.  Practices for U23 will be every week in the morning from 6-8am and Saturday mornings from 8-10am; practices for Juniors will be will be every week in the evenings from 6-8:30pm and Saturday mornings from 8-10am, allowing athletes to hold down jobs or internships, or attend day camp.
