Sunday, April 29, 2012 – Our third race of the season is the Cooper Cup held at Cooper River in Pennsauken, NJ. This is another great venue and will be a very competitive regatta, similar to last week’s Mercer Sprints regatta as it attracts top teams from the Mid-Atlantic and New England regions.

On Saturday, November 12, 2011, the NRC “Rec-ing Crew” topped off its Fall season with a stellar performance at the Hutchinson Cup Regatta in Philadelphia.

Although the weather leading up to the Hooch was less than desirable, it couldn’t have been better during the two days of competition this past weekend…and our crews took full advantage of the gorgeous rowing in Chattanooga, TN.

On a day when most of us wouldn’t even bother to get out of bed, Newport Rowing Club’s Coach Samantha “Sam” McDonald repeated her performance from last week’s Head of the Charles to lead the Vesper Women’s 4+ to another first place win at the 2011 Head of the Schuylkill Regatta!

Although Sunday wasn’t the day that our Men’s and Women’s Youth 4+ athletes or coaches had hoped for, it did end with a first place win for NRC’s Coach Samantha “Sam” McDonald and her elite women’s squad from Vespers Boat Club!
