The College Recruiting Process

The College Recruiting Process

Saturday, February 11, 2012 -  Following practice at 11:00 a.m.,  an informational session was held on “Rowing and the College Recruiting Process.” This session was open to all NRC athletes and parents of athletes as well as those who are rowing this spring.

Led by Head Coach John Cohn, this multimedia session took athletes and parents through the college recruitment  process, year by year, starting with 9th grade. Attendees also heard firsthand experiences from parents of recruited athletes as well as clips from presentations at a recent rowing seminar which addressed college coach expectations for recruited athletes. Attendees were also provided with a packet of process timelines, recruiting rules, and best practices.

Please note: Copies of the presentation as well as a sample rowing resume (used this year by an NRC athlete), suggested summer camps and a link to the rowing scholarship book that was mentioned is available in the NRC Parents section (this is password protected so make sure you register at the log-in screen).
